As we close the chapter on 2024, it’s clear that this year has been one of exceptional growth, achievement, and innovation for SCH Site Services. From delivering high-profile projects to investing in our people and technology, we’ve continued to demonstrate why we’re a trusted leader in the steel fabrication industry.

Let’s take a closer look at the incredible milestones that made this year one to remember.

January: Laying the Foundations for Success

We kicked off the year with exciting projects, including our involvement in the Seacroft Place development in Leeds. Partnering with Wates and Leeds City Council, we took pride in contributing to a project that will deliver much-needed housing for the community.

Our commitment to innovation was evident with the installation of the Voortman V310 plate processing machine, which refined our operations and boosted efficiency. Our team underwent specialist training to master this state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring we stayed at the forefront of technology.

We also celebrated personal and professional milestones, including Health and Safety Awards from Robertson Construction and individual achievements like NVQ certifications and magnetic particle testing qualifications. These wins underscored our commitment to quality and safety.

February to April: Building Big and Thinking Green

Our work on the SeAH Wind project, the world’s largest monopile factory, showcased our ability to support sustainable, ground-breaking initiatives. As leaders in the renewable energy sector, we proudly contributed to shaping Teesside into the hub of a green industrial revolution.

Closer to home, we completed the Houghton le Spring Retail Park and Spennymoor Leisure Centre projects, delivering high-quality results. The completion of the Darlington Heritage Bridge was another highlight, reflecting our dedication to preserving our local heritage.

Training remained a top priority, with team members completing courses in telescopic handler operation, environmental awareness, and site safety supervision. Investing in our people means our clients benefit from the best expertise in the industry.

May to July: Strengthening Partnerships and Expanding Horizons

In the summer, we hit major milestones with projects like the Tyne Tunnel fire safety upgrade and the Gorgie Road residential development in Edinburgh. These projects required innovation, and collaboration – qualities that define SCH Site Services.

We also celebrated our long-standing relationship with Robertson Construction, a partnership built on trust and excellence since 2012. Recognition at the ROCAS Awards for our collaborative approach highlighted the value of these partnerships.

Our investment in technology included the adoption of STRUMIS steel fabrication software, improving efficiency and traceability across all projects. This commitment to innovation ensures that we stay ahead of the curve, delivering better outcomes for our clients.

August to October: People, Projects, and Progress

We welcomed new team members and celebrated milestones for long-serving staff, emphasising the strength of our team. Our apprentices, including Alex and Ben, gained hands-on experience, while seasoned professionals completed advanced training like IPAF PAL+ certifications and fireproof coating techniques.

Major projects, such as the Victrex Tank Farm in Rotherham and the West Leeds Sixth Form Academy, demonstrated our ability to handle complex, large-scale builds with professionalism.

November to December: Celebrating Excellence and Looking Forward

The end of the year brought accolades, such as the Health and Safety Award from Tilbury Douglas, which recognised our commitment to safety. We also continued our work on vital infrastructure like the Tyne Tunnel, ensuring safety and functionality for generations to come.

Our team rounded off the year with training in intumescent paint application and site safety supervision, ensuring we’re equipped to tackle 2025 with confidence.
