Contracts Manager

Job description:

Experience in the structural steelwork industry is essential.

SCH offer both primary and secondary steelwork packages to its clients and require this person to be able to deliver both.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. To assist the estimators in the tendering for contracts ensuring competitive prices are produced to ensure the tender is successful.
2. Ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met to fulfil contractual obligations.
3. Lead the projects daily including the careful management of other departments and stakeholders
4. Ensure projects are handed over from sales, considering full financial, technical specification and contractual conditions are understood and deliverable.
5. Identifying and correctly raising to the commercial team any specification difference between our contract and any adjustments / requests – i.e., variations in design, specification, or quantity
6. Regular contact and communication with all stakeholders on the project
7. Produce a weekly report including a project-by-project detail breakdown on performance and progress
8. Regular attendance and support during site meetings as needed
9. Monthly project reporting, including progression, positive, issues, and financial.
10. Ensuring that all invoices are raised monthly for work carried out inclusive of any additional costs to the contract.
11. Ensure that all pricing of additional works to a contract has a margin mark up to have a positive impact on the bottom line.
12. Negotiate and liase with external companies for work that requires outsourcing.
13. Ensuring at all times jobs are priced and awarded and produced in line with the allocated budget and associated time frame.
14. To work closely with the Erection team to ensure site work is being carried out in line with current Health and Safety legislation.
15. To ensure all VO 1’s and variations are documented and agreement is reached on costing’s prior to work being carried out in order for invoices to be raised correctly on a monthly basis.
16. Work in conjunction with the SCH purchaser to ensure all materials are delivered to the fabrication works and/or site in order to achieve desired programme dates.
17. To develop effective working relationships both internally and externally with clients.
18. Oversee all commercial, health and safety, and quality aspects of each project as they progress.
19. Continually improve ways of working to ensure SCH is a lean manufacturing organisation.
20. To work in conjunction with the client and their associates to ensure programme dates are set and achieved.
21. To continually work in conjunction with the main contractor to develop programme of works.
22. Any other ad hoc duties role holder may be required to carry out at management’s request.
23. Follow and adhere to all company procedures and policies

Experience required:

Must have Structural steel work experience, Tekla, BIM, Commercial awareness, NEC + JCT Contracts,

Qualifications:

NVQ Level 6, CSCS Black Card,
