Structural steel work Contracts Manager
We are looking for a resourceful, organised and driven Contracts Manager to oversee the projects we undertake here at SCH. The ideal candidate will display a wide range of abilities including good people skills, commercial awareness, good planning and execution of tasks and excellent communication skills.
Experience in the structural steelwork industry is essential.
SCH offer both primary and secondary steelwork packages to its clients so the Contracts Manager will need to be able to work effectyively in both areas.
Main Duties:
To assist the estimators in the tendering for contracts ensuring competitive pricing for successful tenders.
Ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met to fulfil contractual obligations.
Lead the projects with careful management of other departments and stakeholders.
Ensure projects are handed over from sales, considering full financial, technical specification and contractual conditions are understood and deliverable.
Identifying any specification difference between our contract obligations and any adjustments / requests – i.e., variations in design, specification, or quantity.
Be confident in dealing with the wide range of issues that may occur throughout the project
Regular contact and communication with all stakeholders on the project.
Produce a weekly report including a project-by project detail breakdown on performance and progress.
Regular attendance of site and Teams meetings with the client.
Negotiate and liaise with external sub contract and supplier companies for work or products that requires outsourcing.
Good at working with budgets
Work closely with the Site teams to ensure installation is being carried out in line with current Health and Safety legislation and in a timely manner
To ensure all variations are documented and agreement is reached on costings prior to work being carried out in order for invoices to be raised correctly on a monthly basis.
Work in conjunction with production to ensure all materials are delivered to the fabrication works and/or site to achieve desired programme dates.
To develop effective working relationships both internally and externally with clients.
Oversee all planning, commercial, health and safety, and quality aspects of each project as they progress.
To continually work in conjunction with the main contractor to develop programme of works and requirements.
Follow and adhere to all company procedures and policies
Any other ad hoc duties role holder may be required to carry out at management’s request.
Salary:
Salary will depend on experience and qualifications (Negotiable)

Experience required:
At least 10 years in a structural and secondary steel background, managing contracts, fabrication and on-site knowledge
Must have at least a CSCS Black card.
